Art for the sake of Art !!!!

At One Shining Moment Child Care Center we love art !!! The most interesting thing about art is that it can be anything that you want it to be. To truly be art, children should be able to create anything that they choose with the materials that are provided, as well as any other materials that they may need. The finished product is not important, it is the process - what the children learn, how they feel about what they have created and the respect given to their art work by their peers and teachers.

Painting - provided with 4 colours of paints and 4 different tools, as well as a table covered with paper, the children painted to their hearts content.

Egg Carton Sculptures - Thanks to Scott & Sabine's parents, we had an over abundance of egg cartons here at the center. The cartons were all put near two tables put together and the children were provided with some tacky glue and some scissors. Some children worked indepently while others worked together. Some children cut (or tried), some children used lots of glue. Structures were made, then taken apart - but the process was valuable.

Zoe & Tyler worked as a team while Sander tried so very hard to cut without getting frustrated and Hunter worked with glue.
